Match Preview – ASC vs. Riverside Coras FC

Match Preview – ASC vs. Riverside Coras FC

After a 1-week hiatus, ASC is back, with what is sure to be an exciting matchup against local rivals, the Riverside Coras.  ASC and the Coras split their matchups last year, finishing 1-1 against each other, but the Coras ultimately prevailed, edging out the hometown heroes by merely a point, finishing 3rd overall in the standings.

Despite an 0-1-1 start, the Coras team is really starting to gel. They played better than the scores would suggest in both the 0-2 loss against FC Golden State and tie vs. Temecula FC, and will be well-motivated to notch their first win against ASC.

“We are a new team getting to know each other but moving forward we have the talent to compete for the league. I see promise in my guys, I see positive things and I see that hunger.”

– Head coach Gabriel Esqueda

Ready for anything…

Look for the Coras to put the pressure on early, with quick transitions and a relentless attack.  Thankfully, ASC’s stout defense, anchored by recent acquisition Kuba Walkigorsky, should be more than up to the challenge.

ASC was missing some key players in Amani Walker and Sergio Enriquez in last week’s tie against FC Arizona and will be hungry for their first 2018 win as well. It will be exciting to see what ASC is capable of with all its stars on the field.
