February 29th, 2020 —
This Saturday February 29th ASC San Diego is hitting the road searching for it’s first away victory in the 2020 season. Heading to Campo Verde Stadium in Gilbert, AZ, ASC will be facing off against Southwest Conference rivals FC Arizona. The last meeting between these two fierce competitors was the match for the NPSL West Region Conference Championship where ASC San Diego was able to secure the win and the medal!. This upcoming match will undoubtedly be intense and exciting. Let’s go ASC!!
Last week only 4 teams in the conference played to get the season started. FC Arizona and Temecula FC faced each other on Temecula’s home pitch at Chaparral Stadium. The match concluded at a draw giving each team 1 point in conference play. With ASC’s well earned victory over AS Los Angeles, San Diego’s team leads their conference and is ready to parlay last season’s regional championship into another one this year.
This season’s squad has seen many changes from the previous one and last week’s match gave a chance to showcase this new awesome team. There are many faces that we were able to introduce last Saturday including the goal scorers Angel Sanchez and Garmina Paygar-Flangiah. Wiltom Quintero and Andrew Miranda were there to give assists. And we were also able to introduce 16 y.o. locally grown phenom Lenny Carreon Garcia. He is on ALBION SC’s Pro Pathway after having played in their Development Academy in recent years. ASC is proud of the entire team and excited to keep on the #pathtothepostseason!
ASC San Diego returns home to Mission Bay Stadium on March 7th for a match against NPSL Southwest Conference new comers, the Las Vegas Legends FC. Don’t miss the excitement of watching a new rivalry in the making. The match kicks off at 6 p.m. sharp. Head over to ASC’s homepage for tickets as well as all the updates and team news this season!
